Algonquin

Click here to view this photo book larger

I have A LOT of catching up to do! We have had a busy few months around here and I guess blogging takes a backseat! This is going back to the first thing I missed ( I think!) We headed up to Algonquin with the whole Cook Clan (The three of us, Gramma and Grampa, Uncle Chad, Aunt Carrie, Liam and Mallory!)for a week of fun. It was a great week and I hope we can all do it again one day. You can peek at my book for picture higlights **photo credits need to go to Carrie for a few pictures in the book (especially the bear!) I lifted them from her Flickr account!**

Up next...three days of birthday fun!

11 Months

Ethan LOVED his chair this month. I think he realized it is just his size and he could climb in and out as he pleased. Also, please excuse his excessive drool...he is working on yet another new tooth and it just can't be avoided. :)

He is looking like such a little boy. *sigh*

Everyone loves a party

We headed out of town on Saturday to celebrate Auntie Carrie's Birthday. There was a time when I would have spent my time with the guest of honour and other adults but times have changed and I spent all of my time hanging with the kiddos and loving every minute.
Ethan loved the sandbox, so much infact, that we now have one in our backyard. Thanks, kijiji!

I've said it before, these two are going to be great friends. Oh, and please note that in the above picture, Ethan is not holding on to ANYTHING!
I can't decide which picture of Mallory I like better. There is just something about the way the wind is blowing her hair and her little scraped knee (the kind you only get from summer play) So sweet.
When Ethan was the last kiddo there (all other said adults found sitters for the night and Liam and Mal headed out to the trailer with Gramma and Grampa) we packed up and headed over to Chez Barr to see Evelyn and Audrey (leaving daddy to party on 'till TWO O'CLOCK, but who's keeping track.) Ethan LOVES these two and I am pretty sure the feeling is mutual.

(just a little squabble here...I think it had something to do with Ethan being more on one lap than the other)

(we just need Evelyn to add a few more years to her little self and she's hired!)

I spent the rest of the night nursing my sweet boy to sleep and watching reruns of Sex and the City (with a handful of Jelly Bellies, thank you very much!) Sounds like a perfect party to me.

Exactly what I was thinking...

I loved the finale. I don't even care that all these questions went unanswered. That is all I will say about that.

The power of positive thinking

Ethan is starting to nap. In his crib. Well, Sometimes.

It started around Easter weekend and has been happening pretty regularly since then. It is almost always the afternoon nap only and it is for varying lenghths of time; 10 minutes to an hour! or my favourite eyes-pop-open-as-soon-as-my-body-hits-the-bed trick. What is with this kiddo? I don't know where he gets this from because Darin and I love sleep. He is definatley the odd man out.

Thanks for the oh-so-cute wall decal, Auntie Kathy! It is like The Secret. If I visualize it, it will happen! Right?

9 Months

You've been out as long as you were in...well almost, but we won't get into that now (you were only 4 days overdue...if the doctor hadn't said you'd be early, I would have hardly noticed!) I really can't believe how time is flying.

A New Favourite

Just nevermind the unmade bed!

Grumpy?

Mr Man is getting a new tooth. There is more drool and his little nose is snotty. The nights are a little longer and more cuddles are needed. If this is as bad as it gets, I can't complain one little bit!
He is watching daddy cut the grass (a favourite pastime of ours) and there are fewer smiles than usual...really the only way I can tell something is wrong.
